Live Edge

We know our wood! And delivering furniture with live edges is one of our many specializations! The description of having a live edge is when the bark or rim of the tree is left on the piece of wood, allowing for that wonderful high character to be enjoyed as a part of the finished piece of furniture. You won’t get this live edge quality from big box furniture retailers!

Quality of Your Live Edge Piece of Wood

You are investing in the quality of the materials and the design. Pieces are built one at a time by hand. They are crafted by true artisans and woodworkers who are too quickly being replaced by machines and assembly lines in other parts of the world. In contrast our Craftsmen create heirlooms – the antithesis of our disposable society – for future generations to enjoy.

Rustic Style

Nature is the star in rustic lifestyle! Think rough hand hewn wood in pieces battered by the elements. It's about time's effect on objects. Whether you want furniture with a finished Japanese style or a cozy cabin feel or some crusty treasures to adore, you've come to the right place. Here live edges, weathered and patina surfaces are badges of honor!

Regarding Cracks

Wood is a living material that continues to respond to climate conditions even after being made into a piece of furniture. During normal weathering, wood makes cracks slightly due to changes in the moisture. This does not affect the structure Integrity of your furniture.

Thickness of the Live Edge Piece of Wood

Our surface tops arrive in three thicknesses at 1”, 2”, or 3”. Since we embrace imperfection as attributes of great beauty, not every piece of wood will be exactly those dimensions. However if you need those dimensions we can make sure that those thicknesses are perfectly matched, as well.

High-Grade Finish

All of our goods have multiple layers of hand-applied high-grade finish of a special mixture. This allows for easy maintenance throughout its lifetime. All you have to do is clean the table with a damp cloth. Please avoid using cleaners, abrasives, or any bleach product. The look of the table finish will remain gorgeous for years to come.  You also have the option to order a piece of furniture that includes a live edge without a finish to either use it as is, or stain it yourself.

Visit the section in our website on Barn Beam Tables, those have a ton of live edge to offer, as well!
