Patty Cain, Presides as the Head Gypsy of Gypsy Farmhouse!
She has three beautifully grown children; Lindsay, Josh and the store itself.
Patty literally gave birth to all three. She proudly built her business around
Farm Tables and has hosted a store unlike any other gift shop for the past
25 year. Patty’s pride and joy is one of the few specialty stores in North
America where you will find furniture made out of 1800’s barnwood crafted
by top-notch furniture makers from the Amish and Mennonite communities
in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. You’ll see her natural children, Lindsay
and Josh around the business as fellow gypsies, as well! And akin to the
gypsies of centuries past, Patty’s store offers more than only award-winning
furniture of excellent craftsmanship, Gypsy Farmhouse proudly delivers an
eclectic array of fine, fun, and fashionable goods – just like the coveted
items that the gypsy tribes bought and sold for the past few centuries.
With that....Welcome to the Gypsy Farmhouse! An eclectic late 1700’s old
farmhouse on Route 23 - smack in the middle of Cedar Grove, New Jersey.
We are 17 miles west of New York City and right off the bus and train lines
to Manhattan. See our gorgeous custom Farm Tables and pursue many
other pieces of rustic furniture - all of which are hand constructed in
wonderful Lancaster County, Pennsylvania from beautiful 18 reclaimed
barnwood. You select the size, thickness, color, finish and character of your
special piece of furniture. We offer several different finishes. You can pick
your order up at the Gypsy Farmhouse, or it can be delivered directly to
your home.
Come in and wander through 12 rooms, two barns and a yard full of
gorgeous farm tables, trestle tables, hutches, sideboards, coffee tables,
benches, end tables, sofa tables, and kitchen islands. We also offer track
and roller doors, along with Amish handmade chairs and counter stools ,
architectural salvage and antiques from Amish and Mennonite Farms.
You will just love our eclectic one-of-a-kind rustic pieces that none of your
friends will have. They are all special tables, cupboards, benches, chests,
hutches, and islands - which are built from old 1800 barnwood doors or
shutters with neat old hinges and door knobs. Each one is special and they
are often embellished with antique hooks, handles, door knobs and iron
grills and other quirky and fashionable objects!
Get yourself a barnwood headboard, beautiful track and roller doors in
seven different designs or a couple of barnwood picture frames. We will get
you a custom size 1800’s barn beam mantel for your new fireplace. It will
be the focal point of your family room!
Take home one of our humorous hand-painted signs, such as the one that
states, “I childproof my house, but they still got in!”
We are the Home of Rustic! Quite simply, we have a monopoly on COOL!
Walk along our path of Amish outhouses. Order one next for your pool
cabana! Come inside and stumble over our horse spreaders, and corbels.
Make it a day trip to come see us and enjoy a wonderful meal at Samba - a
key restaurant in nearby Montclair - which we also use as our client
showroom since we outfitted the new edition including our fabulous 1800
farmwood furniture.
Come check us out! We're open seven days a week from Noon to 5 p.m.
